There are nine kinds of rare metals such as heavy, black, rare and change colors.
Those nine kinds are the followings;
Iridium, Platinum, Gold (Au), Tantalum, Niobium, Vanadium, Hafnium, Zirconium,
and Titanium.
We make special metal allergy free rings by those metals with our own original
skills and knowledges.
Now we introduce you our safe and beautiful metal jewelries.
Iridium is the most royal and rare metal on the earth, (The concentration in the
earth is 0.001 ppm) and it's one of Platinum group elements that is whiter than
Platinum and scratch resistant by its' 8 times harder metal compare with Platinum,
so Iridium is appropriate for jewelry goods.
Also ionization tendency is lower than Platinum, and is not eluted to acid and
alkali, so it is very safe for metal allergy people.
As mentioned, Melting points is 2454'C which is very high, melting process is
so difficult.
However we; Daikanyama studio developed our own special skills for Iridium melting
process and are able to make these special rings.
You can find these special rare metal rings only at our place in all over Japan.
Tantalum is the metal with unique atmosphere, has black shine with clarity, and is
very heavy. We also mention that this metal is so rare and difficult to find and
order.
It becomes passive in the air, the passivation is chemically very stable so
no melting into acid and alkali; it doesn't elute even to aqua regia (the strongest
acid).
The best and perfect metal is Tantalum for making metal allergy free rings by
its' chemical nature.
Tantalum is also used as some parts of artificial heart, artificial bones in medical
fields 'cause it is safe for human bodies.
It also keeps same black shining color in hot springs, chemicals, and even after
1000 years later.
You can wear Tantalum rings without maintenance; Tantalum is 2.5 times harder
than Platinum and hard enough for scratches and deformations.
Also we can change Tantalum rings size to bigger or smaller (Tantalum has stickiness
in the metal) so you can wear it for whole life. (Please check with us first. There
is possibility of non available for changing sizez by the designs.)
You can wear the rings for long time with changing sizez, safety, and solidness;
Only Tantalum can fulfill these three things in high level.
The abundance in the earth is 2ppm. The price of Tantalum ring is almost same with
Platinum ring because we need to shave out the ring shapes from the mass that
is very difficult to obtain.
Tantalum is found mainly in Australia, and is found with Columbite stone with
Niobium.
We use 99.98% pure Tantalum and make rings with forging and cutting processes.
Hafnium is the whitest metal in metal allergy free valve metal group.
Its’ white color is like Platinum and scratch resistant, no deformation, and
more than 3 times harder than Platinum.
The abundance in the earth is 5.3ppm which is very low, difficult to find, the
price is a bit higher than Platinum, but its’ cost performance is very high cause
of the corrosion and scratch resistance without maintenance.
You will find Hafnium does not change color in hot springs and Ocean water
after wearing long time like some decades.
Also Hafnium is strong with Alkali compare to Titanium which is eluted with
strong Alkali.
Hafnium is found mainly in Australia and South Africa, exists rare in
Zirconia.
Its’ melting points is very high as 2222’C, strong with acid heat so used as
Plasma cutting edge in industrial applications.
These days, Hafnium is used as directionally solidified alloy for turbine
that it improves the nature of the heat-resistant alloy.
We use purified pure Hafnium and make rings with forging and cutting process.
You also can order us the size change of Hafnium rings (to bigger or smaller)
by our original forging skills. (Depends on the design.)
Zirconium is one of Titanium metal group; similar to Titanium and it develops
many beautiful colors than Titanium.
It goes passive in the air and the film is chemically stable so it doesn’t
elute to acid and alkali in normal temperature.
Zirconium is almost metal allergy free, no rusting, strong and hard, so
it is appropriate for precious metal and jewelry goods in daily wearings.
It is much lighter than Platinum, Tantalum, and Hafnium so we recommend
Zirconium for clients who want vivid colors on their rings.
The color of Zirconium is just between Hafnium and Tantalum.
The price is a bit affordable than Tantalum and Hafnium.
However, the vivid colors go away and becomes light brown color about after
3 years by daily use and friction.
Zirconia is found mainly in Australia and South Africa; found as Oxide and Silicate
in Zirconia and Zircon.
Abundance in the earth crusts is 190ppm.
Zirconia ceramic has the nature of hardness and toughness, so
it is used as insulating material of space shuttle, brake of
F1 cars, reactor vessel, and artificial joints etc., which is
light and tough high tech material that is used in harsh
environment.
At Daikanyama studio, we use purified and deducted metal
of Zirconium then are making rings with our original
forging and cutting skills.
You can order size change of Zirconium rings made by us;
can make it both bigger and smaller. (Depends on the design.)
It is light, hard and no rusting with no metal allergy so it is
used for aircraft and space rocket.
It develops many colors but durability of colors are low except
royal blue.
Also it may get brown acid film after long years wearing.
At our studio, to consider the strength of machine and cutting process,
use 2 kinds of pure Titanium (compare to one pure Titanium,
two pure Titanium have more solid solution amount of oxygen that make metal
hard and strong tension) and use our original forging and cutting (from mass)
then make rings.
You can order size change of rings that are made at our studio.
Both making bigger and smaller are available. (Depends on the design.)
*The prices are for reference (it is the past time price when clients
received their rings)
*By the market prices changes and material obtains, the price may change
in current situations, so please call us and check the price.
